Why "no upload" matters for PDFs

The files people merge are rarely trivial. They are contracts, invoices, bank statements, medical records, passports, tax returns. Most free "merge PDF" websites ask you to upload those documents to their servers before they touch them — your file sits on someone else's machine, subject to their retention policy, their breaches, and their jurisdiction.

This tool never does that. The merging runs as JavaScript inside your own browser tab. You can prove it: turn off your Wi-Fi after the page loads and merge anyway — it still works.

When merging PDFs actually helps

Combining files into one PDF is one of those small jobs that comes up constantly once you notice it:

• Job applications — staple a résumé, cover letter and references into a single document so nothing gets lost in the inbox.
• Invoices and receipts — bundle a month of receipts behind one invoice before sending it to a client or your accountant.
• Scanned paperwork — a scanner often saves each page as its own file; merge them back into one readable document in the right order.
• Reports and portfolios — join a cover page, the body, and appendices exported from different apps into one clean deliverable.

Does merging reduce quality?

No. Pages are copied across as-is — text stays selectable, images keep their original resolution, and vector graphics stay vectors. Merging is not a re-render, so nothing is degraded. Internal links and clickable elements on each page continue to work in the combined file.

Can I merge Word docs, images, or PowerPoint files?

This tool merges PDFs, so convert other formats to PDF first — most apps have a "Save as PDF" or "Print to PDF" option. Once each piece is a PDF, drop them all in here and combine them in the order you want.

What about encrypted or password-protected PDFs?

A PDF locked with a password cannot be read without it, so it cannot be merged here. Remove the password in your PDF reader first, then merge.

Is there a file-size limit?

There is no server limit, because there is no server. The practical limit is your device's memory — very large scanned documents may be slow on older phones. If your merged file is too big to email, compress the images first (see below) and then merge.
